Bio of the Shankarappa D
Shankarappa D is the Community Development Specialist. He has more than three decade of experience in the area of Rural Development. He has got post-graduation with Masters in Social Work discipline. He has done many International Professional Development Studies on Social and Economic Development in a Foreign Universities. Such as The Netherlands'World-famous Orange Knowledge Programme OKP NFP-Nuffic Fellowship "Facing Rural Innovation Challenges and Food Security" 2018 ICRA-Wageningen (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Government of The Netherlands (Holand). MASHAV Fellowship "Innovative Entrepreneurship" 2016 MCTC- Haifa, (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Government of Israel. "What are Human Rights" 2021 United for Human Rights, Los Angeles-USA. Starting his early career in the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan MHRD-Government of India Shimoga as a National Service Volunteer [NSV], he then moved to Hirejambure, to work in Restless development a Parivarthana organization. He spent close to a three decade here where he rose to become the International Development Specialist taking various roles in development process.

PARIVARTHANA, Rural Development Society is working for the development of the people in Shikaripura taluk of Shimoga district. this organisation inception in 04/04/1994, inspiration in the tireless guidance & initiatives of Mr.B.J.Prasanna District Youth Coordinator of the Nehru Yuva Kendra, MHRD, GoI, Shimoga, under the Ex-NSVs promotional activity for Mr.D.Shankarappa Ex-NSV. To involve the Ex- NSVs in the National Development programmes. Direction and order passed by Dy Director (prog) of NYKS, MHRD, GoI ,New Delhi on 23/11/1993.
PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHMENT
PARIVARTHANA is a registered organization established in the year 1994 having an aim to serve the community in terms of social, economical, education and environment promotional activities and to build a good socially responsible society. It aimed to look for the development of the rural poor, empower them towards their sustainability.

PARIVARTHANA'S PRIMARY CONSTITUENCY :
- 59 villages in Shimoga district of Karnataka.
- The project villages are situated in the semi hill region with an average rainfall about 130- mm/ year. The project villages are located around 15 –20 kms radius from the nearest small town Shiralakoppa.
- The target people covered under the project are Lambani, Bhovi, Koracha, Adidravida, Adikarnataka, valmiki, Kurubas, lingayaths and muslims who are weaker sections of the society.
